Questions About Care?
This page is designed to help parents, teens, and young adults navigate common questions regarding our care approach, logistical details, and what to expect throughout your journey with us. We strive to provide a clear and non-judgmental path forward for those seeking mental health support. Please note that this practice is not a crisis resource; if you are experiencing an emergency, please contact 988 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Who do you treat and what is the age range?
We provide compassionate, non-judgmental psychiatric care specifically tailored for children, teens, and young adults. Our practice focuses on individuals from ages 4 to 30, supporting them through vital developmental milestones. This includes helping young children adjust to starting primary school, assisting teens navigating the social complexities of high school, and guiding young adults as they transition to college or start their first professional careers.
What conditions do you specialize in treating?
While we treat a wide array of psychiatric diagnoses, we have specialized expertise in managing the mental health impacts of chronic medical complexity. This means we help patients whose physical health conditions—such as POTS (an autonomic nervous system disorder affecting heart rate), Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS, which affects connective tissues), and chronic pain—deeply influence their emotional well-being. We understand that physical symptoms and mood are inseparable; when your body feels consistently stressed or in pain, it naturally impacts your anxiety levels and outlook on life.
What is your approach to medication management?
We take a trauma-informed, collaborative approach, viewing medication as just one tool in a comprehensive healing journey. We prioritize clear communication and teamwork, working closely with your primary care doctor, specialists, and therapists to coordinate care. Every prescription is thoughtfully considered in the context of your unique medical history, ensuring that we are managing symptoms effectively without complicating other health conditions.
What services do you offer beyond evaluations?
In addition to comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, we provide ongoing medication management and specialized emotional support designed to build practical life skills. We help families navigate the anxiety and social isolation that often follow a chronic illness diagnosis. Our goal is to empower teens and young adults with coping strategies, self-advocacy skills, and the confidence needed to move forward with clarity and resilience.
Do you take insurance?
We are currently a private pay practice, which allows us to provide the highly personalized, unhurried care our families value. We are actively working on credentialing with several insurance plans to expand accessibility in the future. In the meantime, we can provide you with a detailed superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your specific plan's benefits.
Logistics & Expectations
The Practical Path to Care
Licensing & Location
We are a 100% telehealth practice, specialized in supporting residents of Washington. All visits occur via our secure, HIPAA-compliant patient portal, meaning you can join your private video sessions from the comfort and safety of your own home without the stress of travel.
Cancellations
We require at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations. We understand life happens, but since that time was dedicated solely to your family's care, late notice prevents us from helping another person in need. A fee may apply to help keep the practice available for all who need care.
Booking & Visits
Book directly through our link. Before your first visit, you'll complete digital intake forms from your phone or computer. Completing these early saves valuable time during our session, allowing us to focus entirely on your story and care plan from the moment we start.
Emergency Protocols
We are an outpatient clinic and do not provide 24/7 crisis coverage. If your child or you are in immediate danger, feel unsafe, or are experiencing a mental health crisis, please reach out to the dedicated support of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.
Communication
For non-emergencies between appointments, please use portal messaging. We aim to respond within 2 business days. For medication refills, we ask for 72 hours notice and that you maintain active follow-up status to ensure your treatments remain safe and effective for your needs.
